WAS STUDYING FOR A MASTER’S WORTH IT ALL?

The effort was definitely worth it, from my point of view, and I really enjoyed it. My studies took me a big step forward, not only professionally but also personally. I now feel ready to embark on a career, and I’m looking forward to the future.

WOULD YOU RECOMMEND THE STUDY PROGRAMME TO OTHERS?

The study programme is exciting for anyone who wants to work in marketing in the future and at the same time wants to gain a strong business foundation. When I started the Master’s course, I didn’t know what area of marketing I wanted to work in. The programme also helped me to come to a decision. Many of my fellow students were in the same situation – others were already working in marketing and wanted to deepen their expertise.

HOW CAN YOU APPLY WHAT YOU LEARNED TO YOUR DAILY LIFE?

During my studies I learned to question facts in a critical manner and quickly get an overview of issues. Today, this helps me to take the right decisions and set the right priorities when working against time. We also had training in organising oneself, perseverance and how to look professional. These are all the kind of things I can put into practice every day.

WHY ARE YOU STUDYING FOR AN MSC IN VOCATIONAL TRAINING?

I am convinced and fascinated by the Swiss dual education system. I find the transition from secondary level I to post-compulsory studies exciting and demanding. I would like to delve deeper into the comprehensive tasks that form part of such study programmes.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT THE STUDIES?

The study programmes are a comprehensive introduction to vocational training. I especially appreciate the group lectures and the high level of commitment and competence shown by the teaching staff. We students have lively exchanges with each other and learn from, as well as with, each other.

WHAT SKILLS DO YOU USE IN YOUR DAILY WORKING LIFE THAT YOU LEARNED DURING YOUR STUDIES?

As a member of management, I learn a lot from the continuously updated study content. Reflecting on trends and developments in vocational training and taking a critical look at educational issues is all part of that. I can apply the knowledge and skills acquired to the further development of my own school.
